Immigration / Visa
All participants are required to present a passport that is valid for at least 6 (six) months to obtain a visa for Bangladesh. They are requested to apply for visa at the nearest Bangladesh Embassy or Consulate (a week is enough to process visa application).
Delegates coming from countries where there is no Bangladesh Embassy or Consulate will be issued a visa on arrival at the airport immigration upon presentation of the confirmation by UNESCO of their registration for the E-9 meeting.
Holders of diplomatic and service passports as well as United Nations Laissez-Passer will receive visas gratis.
International Travel and Airport Reception
Participants will bear the expenses of their respective international airfares.
For the arrival and departure of delegates, the host country will provide free transportation service (mini-bus) between the airport and the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel. A reception desk will be in operation from 4 to 8 February 2017 to receive and see off delegates at the airport.
Education Ministers, upon their arrival at the airport, shall be received by protocol officers of the Ministry of Education. The Education Ministers shall be escorted to the VIP Salon where refreshments will be served while s/he waits for the immigration clearance. The Education Ministers shall be escorted to the designated vehicle (sedan) and taken to the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel. The distance between Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport and Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel is 5km.
